Yoga Therapy & Bodywork

Shane Miller – BSc., MA, DTCM, began studying movement and meditation in his early 20’s with Taoist Tai Chi, Chen Style and various forms of Qi Gong. Initially Shane came to yoga to sort out a back injury and stayed with his practice. He completed his first yoga teacher training with Robert Walker and Margot Kitchen at the Calgary Yoga Studio South. In 2003 Shane met Norman Sjoman and Sri Data Treya and continues advanced asana study with them in Bowness. Shane was later introduced to Gert Van Leeuwen to study Critical Alignment Therapy. In 2006 Shane completed a 400 hour training in Hakomi, therapy-a psychotherapeutic technique that cultivates mindfulness of the body as a means to access and work though emotional trauma or maladaptive behavioural patterns. Shane expertly pairs yoga with Hakomi and sees movement as therapy for injuries or unhealthy structural patterns. Shane is also a registered Deep Tissue Lymphatic (Japanese system) Acupuncturist and Doctor of both Traditional Chinese and Western Herbal Medicine. Learn more about Shane here:
